Premium paint

As always, quality – in every subtle nuance of colour – is the highest imperative: the paint finish
of a Maybach protects the outer skin, making it weather-resistant and durable. At the same time,
it enhances and highlights the lines of the body with its brilliance. Indeed, it is through the paintwork that the styling and the specific effect which you wish to create with your Maybach find their true expression as they define the appearance of the vehicle.

The thickness of each coat is calculated precisely on the basis of the purpose which it is to serve – providing optimal protection, for example. This extremely demanding and lengthy process begins with the body being immersed in a phosphating bath which causes the formation of zinc phosphate for optimal corrosion protection. The next stage, cathodic dip priming, ensures a high degree
of weathering resistance.
A functional layer is then applied in order to even out any microscopic irregularities and provide
a perfect base for the subsequent coats of paint. This functional layer forms an extremely hard
and resilient intermediate coat which protects the layers beneath it from stone chip damage.
A coat of water-based paint is then applied on top of this layer with the greatest care.

One of the special features of the Maybach painting process is the use of an additional clearcoat. Once the first clearcoat has dried, it is roughened by hand and then covered with a second, high-gloss finished clearcoat. Other unmistakable features are the special shades found in
the Maybach wide colour range: these have stronger pigmentation and contain more bronze particles than paints used in volume production. These qualities create the incomparable depth
and brilliance which give your Maybach its special charisma.

Attention to detail, dexterity and a thorough understanding of the high-quality materials used result in the creation of exquisite and harmonious enhancements for the interior of your Maybach.

By applying your personal preferences to the choice of the trim elements – made from the finest wood coming, for example, from California and Indonesia – you define an important aspect
of the look and feel of the interior of the vehicle.
The items you have requested are then manufactured with the greatest care and precision
by experienced specialists in a long process which calls for exceptional skills.

The trim elements used in your Maybach are unique items which complement the refined ambience of the interior. Layer after layer of veneers, are built up to form elements which are tailored to fit your automobile perfectly. The colour shades and the details of the wood grain or stone vein patterns are checked with the greatest care before the veneers are matched to your Maybach and fitted by hand.

The trim elements consist of up to sixty-one not visible layers as well as a final wood, stone, piano lacquer or carbon fibre layer and a clearcoat finish. High-precision grinding and polishing as well as painstaking lacquering enhance the distinctive surfaces with a lasting brilliance.
It takes several weeks for all the trim elements to be hand-crafted by the specialists
at the Maybach Manufaktur.

Leather

The leather of your Maybach has a soft, pliable feel. But it is also an extremely strong material which is particularly breathable and durable.

To create your choice of interior appointments the Maybach Manufaktur uses only hides of the very highest quality which are free of irregularities and come from special South German breeding bulls. The colour and surface graining of the hides are coordinated in accordance with strict standards.

Before you can enjoy the fine feel of the leather in your Maybach it has to pass through many skilled hands as it is soaked, tanned, dyed and stretched. In order to make the hides particularly soft, they are flexed and tumbled for hours until they are supple and remarkably light.

The leather which results from this process is particularly permeable to air and resilient, yet also easy to care for. For added durability, the strong thread which coordinates perfectly with the chosen shade of leather is carefully double-stitched by hand. In this way, the interior of your Maybach becomes a perfectly coordinated and harmonious whole: flawless, comfortable and characterised by the highest quality.
